This is Aaron from Gilead Media / Eroding Winds. There debut into the world of Doom Metal. Quite an excellent opening of the band. Check them out, and don't miss these guys when they tour.
Favorite track: Wander.
As we wade through this plane of existence, we grow ever so weary. Our arms fatigued from years carrying some torch of life. Its light blinding, and its presumed purpose to guide us through the void. It burned as our only source of warmth and knowledge. An icon of love and protection. And we poured our own love into it, and our passions and our needs and our desires and our will. Fueling it with our very essence. We lived for this light, a thing which we cherished above all else. Living for the love, and for the sacrifice. A love that was ultimately unrequited. And a sacrifice that was ours alone to make. And so we became lost on our journey, and we began to sink.
That light is now extinguished. As we are consumed by the depths, so too is it made dark by the mire. The torch is the chain, and it is also the stone. And it drags us out into the void. It decays, and we are left to drift. Without a word, our forms are turned out for the serpents.
Now, as we journey on through this expanse, we see a new source of light. And we drift in awe. With arms still weary we reach out to embrace the ember that we see burning in the endless dark. And when we hold that ember, it shows us the truth of a new kind of love. That our blood is our power, and that time will destroy everything we love or ever hope to love. We realize that, indeed, we are now bound to nothing. We offered ourselves to the void, to nothingness, and in doing so we have discovered this hidden light. And now, as we embrace it, we also embrace our exile.
As we ascend to the threshold of reason, we do so with the gift of this critical realization…
This mortal world belongs to us. This is ours.

PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it.
That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter. Matten
